- I have partnered with a successful business owner and a web designer at my Church to undertake a web/iPhone app project. It wont be the next Netflix or Facebook, but I think it will be a success. More to come of this later ;)
- I grabbed an EE Internship at Intel for the summer, I plan on taking every advantage this gives me for landing my first real job.

Summer 2012 - preparing for Fall 2012
First off, in my last post I didn't mention the good things that happened last semester:
Spring 2012 - Failure
At the beginning of this year my health, my faith in God, my trust in my friends, my finances, and my mind were all in the best shape they had ever been, which is why last semester was so great with my grades, my new job and everything mentioned in the Fall 2011 post. I was certain everything would stay the same through this semester...so I did the following:
Classes
I was doing great until Midterms, when I crashed, got sick and dropped one class, then by finals failed two more.
This pushed my frustration to the next level, but I decided it didn't destroy anything...its pushing me back a semester and a lot of money, but I couldn't have picked a better semester for a breakdown because everything else in my life is nice and stable, thanks to God.
I will take this setback just like every other one and keep moving forward.
Classes
- Calculus II
- Engineering Science II
- University Physics I (Mechanics)
- Computer Science I (C++)
- Chemistry I

New Years Resolutions
My new years resolutions were not stupid and absurd, like most folks are, which almost always result in failing. Here they are:
- Move out.
- Get accepted to ASU's Barrett Honors college.
- Keep working 20 hours per week.
- Work out every morning.
- Stop watching crap on TV.
- Participate in Warrior Dash 5k obstacle course.
- Participate in PF changs 1/2 marathon.
I'll make a project post on my training, might even include a before and after picture ;)

v001.ahack3r.us
Introduction
As mentioned in the post Project:Luke-ryberg.com, this version will include learning every aspect of HTML5/javascript and CSS3. This is all hand done markup with no frameworks, templates, or Content Management Systems involved. Just .html, .js, and .css files created in notepad++ and uploaded via Filezilla.Resources used
Although I have been writing markup in CSS/XHTML for about two years, I decided to start learning the next generation from the beginning.Bucky Robert's HTML5 tutorial series at thenewboston.org
Nick Pettit's web design tutorial series at teamtreehouse.com
Smashing Magazine's Cheat Sheets.
Start over
I destroyed my xhtml/css site and then used valid HTML5 markup to create this skeleton.v001.ahack3r.us
And here is the markup.
The next step will obviously sketch out a layout/ general styling, then study up on the new CSS3 features and style away in a main.css :)

Project: Luke-ryberg.com
How things are going down
- This project will have multiple versions, each phase will be a result of the latest language and software I have learned.
- I'll be using my site http://ahack3r.us/ as the "sandbox" to deploy betas in, each will be on a unique sub-domain related to the software being used, each beta will have it's own post here so that you can follow the development and give feedback.
- Once a beta has been completed and passed several versions and is the most promising for my main site, I will move it to http://www.luke-ryberg.com/
- After the final bugs and meanderings are worked out there, I will finally move all my content from http://whatlukedoes.blogspot.com/ over my new official site, and this will be shut down :)
Looking forward to the changes and the learning that will come with it! Be sure to follow my tweets on this project #lukerybergcom !

Fall 2011 - College Freshman semester!
Making due with the new situation
Finals went smoothly and I just got my final grades back!
- Calculus 220: A
- Engineering 102: B
- Physics 111: B
- English 101: A
For my freshman semester and things being so screwed up, those grades aren't bad! It ended up being an amazing time, my classmates included friends from high school, the guy who might be the best guy I know, the girl I took to prom, and several other great kids, we stuck together like the nerds at a frat party. =)
Stay tuned for comments on winter break, hopefully some side projects updates and then Spring semester summary post!
